Sunderland boss Steve Bruce is chasing Manchester City striker Craig Bellamy.
The Daily Star says Bruce has admitted he needs three more forwards following Danny Welbeck's return to Manchester United and the fact that Fraizer Campbell is sidelined for another 12 months.
Bellamy, who spent last season on loan at Cardiff, tops his list, but the Welsh ace's £90,000-a-week wages could prove a problem.
Bruce also plans a move for West Ham striker Demba Ba plus Blackpool's DJ Campbell as he looks to bolster the Black Cats' attacking resources.
