Sunderland make new approach for Man Utd's Kuszczak

Sunderland boss Roy Keane hopes to convince Sir Alex Ferguson to part with Manchester United goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak.

The People says Keane hopes to strike a loan deal for Kuszczak which would see the keeper returned to Manchester United at a phonecall's notice.

Kuszczak, who has four Poland caps, played 13 games for United last season and will again be Edwin van der Sar's understudy. And with Ben Foster, who spent last season on loan at Watford, out with a long-term knee injury, Kuszczak would be called back as soon as Fergie decides Van der Sar needs a rest.
