Manchester City winger Shaun Wright-Phillips has emerged as a transfer target for Sunderland.
Skysports.com suggests the Black Cats have made an enquiry for the 29-year old who has been recently been tracked by Bolton and Wigan Athletic.
Despite making nine new signings already this summer, Black Cats boss Steve Bruce is keen to further strengthen his squad and is hoping Wright-Phillips decides to pursue his career away from Eastlands where he struggles for regular game time.
