Sunderland are expected to make a decision about a new football director next month.

The club's management structure was torn apart by the sacking of Roberto De Fanti in January.

The Journal says Poyet is understood to have recommended Lee Congerton, the technical director of Hamburg, for the role while Gwyn Williams - formerly of Leeds United - is another name linked with the job.
