Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has credited bottom-of-the-table Sunderland for producing a spirited performance in their 2-0 defeat on Sunday.
David Moyes' side created a number of decent goalscoring opportunities at the Stadium of Light before striker Sergio Aguero opened the scoring for his side in the 42nd minute of the game.
Leroy Sane wrapped it up just before the hour-mark but it wasn't the easiest of wins for City, as Toure alluded to.
"We are very happy with the performance and very happy with the three points," Toure said.
"Sunderland made us suffer in the first half. It was quite close. They were very strong and those kind of teams – fighting against relegation – are always difficult.
"We try to do our best and play as well as possible.
"Sunderland were full of confidence today and the fans were pushing them. It was an unbelievable atmosphere."
