Sunderland have lost midfielder Ki Sung-yeung for the rest of the season.

He is set to be ruled out of Sunderland's fight for Premier League survival due to tendonitis of the knee.

Manager Gus Poyet said: "I really don't know if it will be possible for Ki to play again for us. He has been to see a specialist who says it needs to be treated carefully."
