Sunderland are hoping they can lure Emanuele Giaccherini from Juventus with an improved offer.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Black Cats will look to increase their bid from 8million (£6.9m) to 10m (£8.6m).
Sunderland boss Paolo Di Canio is a big fan of Italy international Giaccherini and has his fingers crossed that Juventus will at least consider his revised proposal.
