Sunderland, Liverpool encouraged over availability of Wigan's Cattermole

The future of Wigan Athletic midfielder Lee Cattermole is clouded.

With the Latics set to welcome Rayo Vallecano midfielder Mohamed Diame - and his defensive teammate Antonio Amaya - the Daily Mail says Cattermole could become available.

Sunderland have made two bids already while Liverpool, Tottenham and Everton are all monitoring his situation with Wigan reluctant to sell.

The England U21 midfielder, though, wants to press his claims for a place in Fabio Capello's full squad and bids of around £10million could prove successful.
