Sunderland will discover today if they've lost Stephane Sessegnon for the season.
Sunderland expect to hear today if Sessegnon is out for the rest of the season after appealing his red card at Aston Villa.
The Benin international was sent off for an ugly tackle on Villa midfielder Yacouba Sylla but head coach Paolo di Canio pleaded his innocence immediately after the game with referee Lee Probert. The club followed his plea with their official appeal yesterday.
Sessegnon faces a three-match ban if the FA reject Sunderland's appeal today and he will miss their remaining home games against Stoke City and Southampton and the final day visit to Tottenham Hotspur.
