Sunderland are leading the race for want-away Blackburn Rovers striker Jason Roberts.

Roy Keane is after another powerful target man to couple up with Kenwyne Jones and will try to rescue Roberts from his torment at Blackburn.

Roberts scored a last minute winner against Bolton on Sunday and then begged for boss Mark Hughes or other clubs to recognise his talents.

Summer signing Jones has become a big hit at struggling Sunderland and Keane said: "At the moment, he's the best striker in the Premier League."
