Sunderland are in the hunt for West Ham defender James Tomkins.

Tomkins was strongly linked with Sunderland in the January transfer window and a raid on Sam Allardyce's former club has again been mooted this summer.
Sunderland are in the market for a new central defender after the release of Wes Brown and captain John O'Shea approaching the final 12 months of his Black Cats deal.
