Sunderland rookie Michael Kay is in line for a senior call-up for Monday's trip to Manchester City.

Regular right-backs Paul McShane and Greg Halford are suspended for the big match, leaving Black Cats boss Roy Keane short of options.

As a result, Academy right-back Kay could be a shock participant at the City of Manchester Stadium. The 18-year-old from Shotley Bridge has already travelled with the first-team squad to Manchester United and West Ham this season and is highly-rated by Keane.
