Sunderland goalkeeper Keiren Westwood was happy to see action in their 2-1 friendly win over Kilmarnock.
Former Coventry City No1 Westwood missed the final stages of last season with a shoulder problem and was cleared to return to full training during the Black Cats' tour of Germany.
Reflecting on his Sunderland bow, Westwood told safc.com: "I don't think it went too badly.
"The team played well though I was a little bit rusty in some areas. That's going to happen though as I've spent a lot of time out.
"The more pitch time I get the better I will be."
The keeper added: "At the moment it's about working out the kinks. There were some things I wasn't too happy with, but I'll work on them like I always do and then move on.
"I enjoyed the experience more than anything to be honest. It's great to play with such good players and that is a massive bonus for me."
