Sunderland join queue for Celtic’s Samaras

Sunderland are the latest club to be linked with Celtic forward Georgios Samaras.

The Greece international has already attracted the interest of Atletico Madrid and Hull City as uncertainty surrounding his future in Glasgow continues.

Reports suggest that Black Cats boss Gus Poyet could make a £2million play for Samaras this month as he looks to edge out of the Premier League relegation zone.

Poyet currently has Jozy Altidore, Steven Fletcher and Fabio Borini on his books but the trio has scored six league goals between them this term while Samaras has netted four in seven starts in Scottish Premier League and tallied four during their Champions League campaign earlier this season.
