There's growing confidence at Sunderland that Jack Colback will pen new terms.

The Daily Mail says the midfielder is also out of contract in the summer, but manager Gus Poyet wants to keep him and wants his future sorted as soon as possible.

Colback has already turned down an initial offer from the club, but it is understood good progress has been made as both parties work towards an agreement.
