The agent of Carlos Cuellar says there has been no contact from Sunderland regarding the Spanish defender.
It has been suggested that the recently released Aston Villa man was set to reunite with old manager Martin O'Neill at the Stadium of Light but his representative Pedro Bravo has denied those claims.
"Sunderland have not made an offer for Carlos. They have not phoned me," Bravo told reporters.
O'Neill signed Cuellar from Rangers in 2008 and it emerged that the Irishman was keen to have him again but he has made no approach thus far.
