Sunderland have joined the battle for Aston Villa winger Marc Albrighton.
The Sunderland Echo says the Black Cats are in the market for added pace and creativity out wide this summer, particularly after on-loan Liverpool forward Fabio Borini returned to Anfield.
Albrighton impressed for Villa during a sorry end to the season for Paul Lambert's side and the 24-year-old could be available on a free transfer with his contract ending next month.
