Sunderland fullback Phil Bardsley was delighted with his awards double this week.
Bardsley admitted he was a little surprised after scooping the Player of the Season and Players' Player of the Season prizes at the club's awards dinner.
The former Manchester United man admitted it was a great feeling when his name was announced as winner of both awards contrary to his expectations.
"Obviously the fans have been telling me I've been in the running but it was still a surprise to win," Bardsley told safc.com.
"It's nice to hear people praise me and to win both the fans' and players' player of the season awards means a lot to me.
"To be recognised by both the supporters and my team-mates is fantastic.
"It's a great feeling and I can't thank the people who voted for me enough."
