Sunderland are ready to sign Blackpool midfielder David Vaughan in the summer.
The People says Black Cats made an inquiry about 27-year-old Vaughan over the weekend.
Blackpool insisted Vaughan was not for sale, but that won't put off Sunderland, knowing the ex-Crewe man is off contract in June.
Sunderland were willing to pay £1 million to sign the Wales midfielder before yesterday's deadline.
