Sunderland are eyeing Aston Villa attacker Shaun Maloney.

The Birmingham Mail says Roy Keane - who briefly played with him at Celtic - wants to take him to the Stadium of Light.

Villa are expected to demand about £4m for a player they signed for £1m in January 2007.
