Sunderland are eyeing Aston Villa fullback Stephen Warnock.

The former Liverpool defender faces being squeezed out at Villa Park as new manager Paul Lambert seeks a left-back signing this summer.

Warnock, with a year to run on his current deal, is interesting Sunderland and is open to a return north.
