Sunderland are chasing Leeds United fullback Sam Byram.

The Evening Chronicle says despite one report claiming that Sunderland have had a bid accepted for Byram, a deal is not thought to be imminent.

Several Premier League clubs are keeping tabs on Byram, with Liverpool and Newcastle United also understood to be interested in the highly-rated England Under 20 international.

Sunderland are known to be looking for at least one full-back to reinforce their squad.
