Blackpool midfielder David Vaughan is wanted at Sunderland.
The Daily Mail says Sunderland are ready to firm up their interest in Vaughan.
Wales man Vaughan is out of contract in the summer and has yet to agree a new deal.
The 28-year-old was voted the club's player of the year and has also attracted interest from Everton.
