Sunderland have enjoyed a bumper windfall thanks to Real Betis' promotion in Spain.
The Evening Chronicle says Sunderland will pick up an extra £350,000 from last summer's sale of Alfred N'Diaye - pushing the total beyond the £1m mark.<> With money tight in the Spanish second tier, when he made the move permanent in August, Betis paid an initial £350,000 with a second instalment of the same amount due this summer.
But the contract also included a clause that triggered another £350,000 payment if Betis won promotion back to the Primera League - a feat they achieved at the first attempt.
