Sunderland are closing in on a deal for Wolves striker Steven Fletcher.

The Daily Mail says Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill has moved a step closer to signing Wolves striker Fletcher for £15million.

Fletcher is expected on Wearside for a medical after Sunderland moved a step closer to paying the £15m Wolves want for the former Scotland international, who handed in a transfer request two weeks ago.

Fletcher had to take a 50 per cent pay-cut following Wolves' relegation and he is eager for a move back to the top flight.
