Sunderland are ready to pounce for Liverpool striker Fabio Borini.
The Times says Liverpool's expected signing of 32-year-old striker Rickie Lambert for £4m from Southampton could lead to Borini, 23, leaving Anfield for Sunderland.
The Italian forward spent last season on loan at Sunderland.
