Sunderland remain confident of selling striker Daryl Murphy to Celtic.

The Journal says Celtic are hoping to finalise a deal before the end of the week following the permanent appointment of Neil Lennon as manager.

Sunderland boss Steve Bruce is keen to get Murphy off his books as he seeks to clearout his fringe players.
