Sunderland draw up new contract for Lamine Kone

Sunderland are offering Lamine Kone a new contract.

The Sun says Black Cats boss David Moyes has offered Kone a stunning new £50,000-a-week contract in a bid to stop him going to Everton.

Moyes put the fresh terms to the giant centre half yesterday and wants him to commit after turning down a £14 million bid for him.

Kone would collect a pay rise of almost 50 per cent if he puts pen to paper on a fresh four-year contract and he is close to agreeing.

Moyes knows that his former club are offering Kone even more money, but he hopes his fast action will persuade him to stay.
