Marcos Angeleri remains a Sunderland player.

The Daily Mail says Sunderland have denied claims that Argentina international Angeleri has had his contract cancelled.

However, the defender, who has made just three appearances since his £1.5million summer move from Estudiantes, is not expected to return to Wearside next season.

A return home to Argentina is expected for Angeleri.
