Sunderland defender O'Shea: Positives to come from derby draw

Sunderland defender John O'Shea says there were positives to come from their draw at Newcastle United.

Stephane Sessegnon was dismissed just before the hour following an altercation with Cheick Tiote, while Lee Cattermole saw red in the moments immediately after the game for apparent dissent.

And O'Shea was in philosophical mood and told safc.com: "When you've been in a game like that and held out for so long, it's always disappointing to concede right at the death, but we can take positives from the game.

"We defended well for the majority of the match, but unfortunately they caught us with a killer punch right at the end.

"It's one of those things and it's easy to say, but I think if we'd have had 11 men on the pitch we would have won the game."
