Mangane was delighted at being given his first taste of action under new head coach Paolo Di Canio.
“It was good to play at last, it has seemed a long time,” the 30-year-old told the Evening Chronicle.
“I have had to wait for my chance to play, but I have still enjoyed it here.
“It has been unfortunate to come and not be able to contribute or be given a chance.
“I have trained hard and perhaps I could have had a chance to play earlier.
“It has been a difficult three months.
“When you arrive at a new club and you do not play, it is a test mentally.”
