Sunderland have been defeated 3-1 by Hannover 96 during their German training camp.

Two goals in the space of three minutes just before half-time from Mohammed Abdellaoue and Jan Schlaudraff left Sunderland on the back foot.

Although Stephane Sessegnon got them back in it, Erdal Akdari wrapped up the victory for the Germans with six minutes to go.
