Sunderland capped off their preparations for the forthcoming season by beating Udinese 2-0 at Heritage Park - the home of Northern Football League side Bishop Auckland.
Santiago Vergini was the Black Cats' hero, with the Argentina defender opening the scoring on 56 minutes.
He then won a penalty 60 seconds later, which was duly converted by Connor Wickham.
