Sunderland could lose on-loan Lyon defender John Mensah to Rangers.
Sunderland were thought to be weighing up a move to sign Mensah on a permanent basis, but Rangers could now rival them for the 28-year-old.
"It is true that Rangers have expressed interest in John," Mensah's agent, Fabien Piveteau, told GhanaWeb.
"But we are looking at other offers and taking into consideration the price tag before making a move.
"We have to sit with John's former club Lyon for a better deal for both parties, for now, we are just considering some factors before taking the next plan of action."
