Sunderland are closing on a deal for Manchester City goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon.
The Journal says the Black Cats will hold talks with the Romania international in the next few days and are confident of making him their third signing of the summer.
Pantilimon, who will battle Vito Mannone for the number one spot next season, is set to jet into the North East for talks in the early part of the week and Sunderland expect to unveil the signing before the end of the week.
