Sunderland boss Gus Poyet says his club are on the verge of sealing a deal for Argentine forward Ignacio Scocco.
The Internacional striker is set to have a medical with the Black Cats this week before finalising a £3million move to the Stadium of Light.
Of the impending deal, Poyet said: "I hope so. It's not done, but we are very, very close."
Sunderland were keen on Scocco this past summer but he left homeland club Newell's Old Boys for Brazilian outfit Inter instead.
