Sunderland are chasing three Inter Milan youngsters.
The Daily Star Sunday says the Black Cats are in talks over Inter Milan trio Alfred Duncan, Ibrahima Mbaye and Daniel Bessa.
Paolo Di Canio's Black Cats are trying to land Duncan - a star for Ghana at the Under-20s World Cup - for £5million, but Inter want nearer £7m.
As well as Duncan, 20, Sunderland's new chief scout Valentino Angeloni, formerly with Inter, has had discussions over promising Senegalese defender Mbaye, 18.
And Brazilian Bessa, 20, an attacking midfielder, has also figured in negotiations with a view to a loan.
