Sunderland chasing Cruz Azul star Cristian Riveros

Paraguay World Cup star Cristian Riveros is a £2 million target for Sunderland.

The People says Steve Bruce sent top spy Ricky Sbragia to watch the 27-yearold left-winger in action for Mexican side Cruz Azul last week and he is set to open talks soon.

Riveros plays for the highly fancied Paraguayans beside Sunderland centre half Paulo Da Silva who has been a surprise hit since going to Wearside on a free transfer.

The Black Cats want more attacking midfield options and they would like to land both Riveros and Middlesbrough's Adam Johnson, although the Boro contract rebel can play on either wing.
