Sunderland challenge Arsenal for Hannover striker Abdelloue

Sunderland have joined Arsenal in their interest for Hannover 96 striker Mohammed Abdellaoue.

Abdelloue is being watched by Arsenal leading up to the January market.

Reports in Norway suggest that Arsenal and Sunderland are the strong favourites to clinch his signature.

Abdellaoue's agent Stig Lillejord admits there is interest in the star forward and they will wait until January before they make a decision over his long-term future.

Lillejord said: "For the time being we do not have an offer on the table but there are several European clubs that are showing an interest. We will wait until January and see what happens."
