Sunderland chairman Niall Quinn says they'll be ready to ramp up their summer market plans if they beat the drop this season.
"This season we have paid out fees for 12 players but I don't think we'll be doing that again.
"Not because we haven't got that kind of money to spend, but because that's not what is needed this time round.
"What's needed now is to cherry-pick players for certain areas to give us an extra lift. It will be more about quality, rather than quantity, this summer.
"But ultimately it will be for Roy (Keane) to decide because he is in total control of the team and that side of things."
