Sunderland chairman Niall Quinn is confident the club's existing players can succeed at Premiership level.

"The players are out to make their mark in the Premier League," Quinn told The Journal.

"They will know from the manager last year that signing players and paying big money for them won't mean anything. We have got a group of players here who would probably feel hard done by if their positions were talked about at will."
