Sunderland certainly not safe says Poyet

Sunderland are not yet safe from relegation despite beating Cardiff City 4-0 on Sunday.

The Black Cats hammered the ten-man Bluebirds at the Stadium of Light to move out of the bottom three with three fixtures remaining.

A brace from Connor Wickham - who now has five goals in three games - and goals from Fabio Borini (penalty) and Emanuele Giaccherini saw the Wearside outfit shift above Cardif (now bottom), Fulham and Norwich City who all have just two fixtures left to play.

Notwithstanding the win, Sunderland manager Gus Poyet was not about to relax as he continues to strive to keep the club aloft in the top flight.

"Let's not think we have done everything because we have done nothing. There are still games to play and everything can change," he said.

"Now if we want to be in a great situation, we have put ourselves in the best position possible in football because it didn't look good.

"I talked about miracles, let's see if in two weeks' time I am here telling you that miracles happen."
