Sunderland are casting their net wide in search for a new striker. The Daily Mail says PSV Eindhoven forward Ola Toivonen is being watched by the Black Cats.

The Daily Mail says PSV Eindhoven forward Ola Toivonen is being watched by the Black Cats.

Toivonen is valued at around £9million but PSV will listen to reasonable offers and he would be cheaper than £12m-rated summer target Papiss Cisse of Freiburg who is attracting interest from Bayern Munich.

Wolfsburg's Patrick Helmes and Nuremberg's former Tottenham striker Tomas Pekhart have also come under Sunderland scrutiny.
