Sunderland are casting their net wide in search for a new striker.
The Daily Mail says PSV Eindhoven forward Ola Toivonen is being watched by the Black Cats.
Toivonen is valued at around £9million but PSV will listen to reasonable offers and he would be cheaper than £12m-rated summer target Papiss Cisse of Freiburg who is attracting interest from Bayern Munich.
Wolfsburg's Patrick Helmes and Nuremberg's former Tottenham striker Tomas Pekhart have also come under Sunderland scrutiny.
