Sunderland captain John O'Shea was happy to see Lee Cattermole recalled for defeat at West Bromwich Albion.
Cattermole's return was one of the last big decisions by former manager Paolo Di Canio.
O'Shea told The Journal: "We know what Lee's capable of. It's not just Lee, we're going need everybody because Fletch (Steven Fletcher) may be looking at a spell on the sidelines as well. Everyone's got to stick together so Lee coming back in is going to be helpful.
"Lee's Premier League experience is important but it's also sticking together and working hard for the team, making sure we can give something the fans can be proud of as well. We're working as hard as we can to do that."
