Sunderland skipper John O'Shea was delighted with victory at Manchester United.
The Irishman was bursting with pride after the Black Cats' followed impressive displays at both Manchester City and Chelsea by becoming the first Sunderland side since 1968 to win a league game at Old Trafford.
He said:" I couldn't have been prouder of the lads for the way they performed all over the pitch.
"We showed what we are capable of, battling all the way to the end to ensure we got those three points.
"I was a United player for a lot of years and it feels good to go back and do as well as we did."
