Sunderland captain John O'Shea says David Moyes' experience will be crucial in the transfer market.
West Ham striker Diafra Sakho and ex-loanee Yann M'Vila remain targets, while Manchester United striker Will Keane and winger Adnan Januzaj have also been linked.
"David Moyes' record in the Premier League speaks for itself," O'Shea told the Sunderland Echo.
“The amount of wins he has had in his Premier League career is very impressive, and hopefully we can carry that forward with him.
“We know we have a lot of hard work to do, it's another new manager coming in with fresh ideas, and he wants to get those ideas across to us as quickly as possible.
“Hopefully, we will have some familiar faces returning to us for next season, and some new faces too, and we can keep hold of everyone that is here already.
“Those are the important things over the next few weeks."
