Sunderland boss Ricky Sbragia is ready to reignite his long-term interest in Blackburn Rovers midfielder David Dunn.
The Sunday Sun says the former England international has already held talks over a switch to the Stadium of Light.
Dunn, 29, has struggled to hold down a regular starting place at Ewood Park since Sam Allardyce was appointed Blackburn boss in December.
And although Allardyce holds Dunn in high regard, the playmaker's injury record is a major concern.
Sbragia is a long-term admirer, having been instrumental in Bolton's bid to sign Dunn in 1997 while Allardyce's No 2 at the Reebok Stadium.
