Sunderland boss Sbragia reveals transfer offers tabled

Sunderland boss Ricky Sbragia has revealed they've tabled offers for several transfer targets.

"We are always looking for good players but whether we can get them is a different matter," he said.

"We have things ongoing but we will have to wait. We can't push it because we've shown our interest and now we must wait for something to come back.

"If it doesn't come back there's nothing we can do about that and we'll move on."

Sbragia, in his first managerial post, admitted it was difficult learning his trade in the middle of the transfer window - a task which will only become harder after Redknapp went public with his designs on Jones - but insisted the structure left by former boss Roy Keane had helped him cope.

"Coming in at this time has been the most difficult part, with the focus we've had (on transfers)," he said.

"Wednesday was the first time I've not been able to make training, which was disappointing but (chairman) Niall Quinn does a super job for me upstairs and I also have a couple of great recruitment officers who can put names forward to us."
