Sunderland boss Ricky Sbragia is happy to welcome back left-back George McCartney.

Sbragia said: "George is back in training and everything is going to plan really. He did the warm-up yesterday and seems happy enough.

"It won't take him too long to get back when he's ready because he's a naturally fit lad and if anything we've got to make sure he doesn't try to do too much.

"We know he is quality and it really will be like having a new signing at the club when he's ready again. He'll give us a new dimension and really improve our defensive options."
