Sunderland boss Gus Poyet feels Manchester United should give Ryan Giggs the fulltime job.
Poyet knows Giggs well after the pair sat their 'A' coaching badge together, and fears that in discounting the 40-year-old's claims, they are in danger of missing out, despite the midfielder's lack of management experience.
He said: "It's a fantastic opportunity for Ryan, and in my opinion, he should be considered for the job because he knows the club, and the system they've been using for so long.
"Why not take him now, instead of him going away to manage other teams for the next five years? He has the experience of being at the club. Look at Pep Guardiola, he was Barcelona B coach and came through to be a wonderful coach.
"If he can be their special one at Barca, then why not Ryan Giggs at Manchester United? Why can't he be the next one? The thing is, you need to be given the chance."
